Rainbow Snippets August 12 to 13

Hello, all! How is your day going? I just finished watching Horatio Hornblower – loved it. 🙂

Continuing from last week’s excerpt re: “Truck Me Back to Normal,” published by MLR Press. (Joey in the first person)

Bear cleared his throat and tucked a lock of hair behind an ear. “From your application, it says you were in the army for a long
time, but you haven’t worked since you left. Care to tell me why?”

Well, it would have come out at some point anyway, right? “I had some difficulty dealing with a variety of things as a result
of experiences I had while overseas.”

That was vague enough, wasn’t it?

Rainbow Snippets August 5 to 6

Hiya! It’s a lovely Saturday here in Atlanta, not too hot, and cloudy.

I had a great time last weekend at the concert my hubby and I attended. Still recovering seven days later. I suppose that’s what happens as you get older? Oh well, worth it!

Below follows last week’s excerpt from “Truck Me Back to Normal,” published by MLR Press. Enjoy. 🙂

When his eyes finally met mine, I froze. Jesus, the man was gorgeous, all hard lines, chiseled jaw, steel blue eyes and wavy black hair. Strangely enough, he’d frozen, too, though he recovered much more quickly than I did. I reminded myself that I was here for a job, not to fuck my potential boss.

My dick said, “what a pity.” I ignored it.

Welcome back, folks! 🙂 I will be going to a Cheap Trick/Foreigner concert this afternoon, so I’ve got to prepare (T-shirt: check. Skirt: check. Hat: check. Ice: You betcha!)

We continue where we left off last week with “Truck Me Back to Normal” published by MLR Press. Enjoy. 🙂

It had been a long time since I’d felt any kind of interest in another human being, the issues I’d been dealing with leaving my
dick pretty much dead to the world. It was surprising to…feel again. And scary. I wasn’t ready.

“My apologies, Mr. Choi,” Bear said and I reined in my wayward musings.

“Not a problem, sir.”

Another hot Saturday! Ice is in my future. 🙂

Below is a snippet that follows last week’s quote from “Truck Me Back to Normal” published by MLR Press.

I remained at the door, waiting to be told what to do next. It was like being in the army. I almost stood at parade
rest, out of old habits.

“Please, have a seat,” Bear said, and I thanked him quietly before sitting in the only other chair in the room.

I watched as he scribbled. The foreman seemed to be very intent and deliberate, and he wasn’t bad looking either, if you went for massively-built, hairy men with a no-bullshit aura around them.

Hi, all! I hope you’re relaxing and having fun this weekend. 🙂

Below is a snippet from “Truck Me Back to Normal” published by MLR Press. Joey (first person) is about to start an interview and he is mentally…distracted.

When I entered the room, I closed the door behind me and turned to face my potential employer. He was the biggest man I’d ever seen. No wonder he was called Bear.

“Joseph Choi?” the foreman asked from where he sat behind a desk on which everything was stacked in neat piles. He didn’t look up, but focused on what he was doing, his pen busily going back and forth on the sheet before him.

He reminded me a little of a few of my former commanding officers in the way he held himself. Rigid. Stern. Yummy. Now where did that thought come from?

Hi there. Hope you’re enjoying a wonderful weekend, so far. 🙂

Here is a snippet from Unexpected Journey, published by MLR Press. John (first person) and Hollis make up after an argument. They are staying in a motel.

I grabbed my bag and walked into the bathroom, shutting the door so I wouldn’t disturb Hollis as I
showered.

Once I was cleaned up, I strode back into the room, set the bag near the TV and sat on the bed next to him. I gently
stroked his cheek with my index finger, and his eyes fluttered open. When his eyes finally focused on me, they widened before
he sat up and launched himself into my arms, squeezing me tight.

“I’m so sorry, John. I didn’t mean to hurt you or—”

I kissed his forehead which stopped him mid-sentence. He pulled back and stared at me. “Where were you all night?”

“Walking around, mostly, then when I got thirsty, I went to this gay bar and almost wished I’d worn a chastity belt, the way
they were pawing at me.”

A surprised laugh burst out of Hollis, and he pressed his head into my shoulder. “I don’t blame them. You are one hot piece of
ass, John Dornbrook.”

It’s cloudy here in Atlanta, and not too warm. I love it!

Here’s another snippet from “Unexpected Journey” published by MLR Press. It follows last week’s excerpt. (John–first person)

Hollis watched me, but I couldn’t read the expression on his face, though I had a hard enough time focusing since I was
starting to see double.

We made it back to the motel much later, Hollis practically dragging me to the room since I was unsteady on my feet, and
then he tucked me into bed.

“Wish I could do this with you every night,” I murmured, and drifted off to sleep. I thought I heard Hollis’s breath hitch, but I was soon lost to the world.

The [next] morning sun was bright. Too bright. I sat up in bed, still in my clothes from the evening before. My head was pounding and my mouth tasted nasty. I almost thought I was back in my condo in Kansas, the situation was so familiar. But then I remembered I was on a spur-of-the-moment road trip, with the sexiest, kindest man I’d ever met.

What the hell had I done last night?

Hope you’ve had a wonderful day, so far. 🙂

Here’s a snippet from “Unexpected Journey” published by MLR Press. John (first person) is drunk and a tad…amorous.

“Do you know you’re beautiful?” I said, my words slurring. I reached out to touch his nose and almost poked him in the eye. “I want to kiss you all the time.”

Hollis raised an eyebrow. “That so? You know you’re tipsy, right?”

“Yeah, I gueth, uh, guess so.” I was acting like a lovesick fool, but I couldn’t help it. “Do you have a-a boyfriend?”

“Not at the moment.” He smiled. “Are you applying for the position?”

“I wish I could, b-but I’m justh-just this old guy with no job. I have nothing to o-offer.” And then I belched, to seal the deal.

Classy.

Rainbow Snippets April 1 – 2

Hello, everyone! Wishing you well on a beautiful Saturday.

Here’s a snippet from “Because of Sam,” published by MLR Press. It’s more than six sentences, but it’s for context. Martin, the main character, is remembering the night his drunken father attacked him and his sister. It’s not pleasant…

“Stop, Dad. Please! Why are you doing this?” I said, my scrawny, eleven-year-old body no match for his height and strength. But I had to try. “You’re hurting her. You’re hurting us!”

He shoved me away, but at least he’d stopped harassing Louise. Dad picked up the beer he’d been drinking, and swallowed its contents. He wiped his mouth on his sleeve, then grabbed the neck of the bottle. “You think you can talk to me like that? Goddamn pansy. I’ll show you how to be a man.”

Dad hauled me to him with one fist in my shirt and then pushed me into the wall by the fridge. “I’ll teach you to interfere in things that don’t concern you.” And then he took his first swing at me with the bottle.

Rainbow Snippets January 14-15

Happy Saturday! 🙂

I’m enjoying a slow day and might even take a nap. Shocking, right?

Here’s a snippet from “Truck Me How I Like it”, published by MLR Press. Not much innuendo here between Derrick (main character) and Paul (lust interest). 😉

“So you’re a musician, Mr. Fontana. It suits you,” I said, sipping the second beer I’d ordered while watching the band play.
It would be my last one for the night. I didn’t drive drunk.

“It’s Paul. Why won’t you use my first name? We’re not at work, and even then, I wouldn’t mind. I think you know that.” He sat on the stool next to mine, ignoring the people who were trying to get his attention.

“Habit, I guess. And I’ll continue to do it, now, just because it bugs you,” I replied, grinning at him.

“I might have to spank you if you do,” he said, and winked at me.

My cock perked up at his words. “That right? Well, you’re just full of surprises, aren’t you?”
