Happy Saturday!
I actually managed to post this a day early – go me! Hope you’re well. 🙂
Here’s a snippet from “To Catch His Mate,” published by JMS Books and just re-released today. It’s a shifter mystery/romance, and my one and only novel to date. I tend to write shorter stories due to my work schedule and life commitments. I enjoyed writing this story, a lot.
This is a scene between Felix and his adopted father, Ben, who’s dying in the hospital.
—
“What’d you go and do, old man?” I asked, as I pulled up a chair beside him.
He tried to lift his left hand, but couldn’t. I picked it up and held it in both of mine. “Sorry,” Ben whispered.
“Nothing to be sorry for, Ben. You took me in when I had no one else. I owe you my life.” I kissed his hand and held it to my cheek.
“No,” he whispered again. “I owe you…mine.” I saw him struggle to get up, so I found the remote to raise the bed. He continued, “I wanted to say…something…to you before I…”
“Okay, Uncle Ben.”
“I…love you, son. You’ve made me…proud.” I closed my eyes and felt moisture on my cheeks. “I love you, too, Dad.” Because, that was what he was to me.

Happy Sunday!
Here’s a snippet from “Dion’s Redemption,” published by Less Than Three Press. Dion is reminiscing about his first kiss with Nolan. Enjoy. 🙂

But this tasting… Nolan’s lips had been soft and supple. He’d taken his time, cradling my head in his huge hands and angling for the perfect melding. I’d gasped at the touch of his tongue to mine, my eyelids falling closed as my body melted against his. The urge to wrap my leg around his ankle and hump him like a dog had crossed my mind, and then it was like cold water washed over me.
I’d pushed him back, my fingers gripping briefly in the material covering his broad, solid chest before falling away. The tingle running down my spine was something new, too. I’d covered my mouth with a trembling hand, confused at the sensations that flowed through me.

Happy Sunday!
Here’s a snippet from “Remember Me Not, My Love,” published by Less Than Three Press. It’s from a bittersweet scene between Terry and Ishmael in a park. Enjoy. 🙂
—
I closed my eyes at his candid disclosure, a sharp pain piercing me over all that he had endured.
“I’m so sorry,” I said, yet again.
“You said that already,” he replied. I looked at him. I wasn’t sure about the expression on his face, but it might have been reluctant amusement at my almost incessant apologies. There was nothing more I could say anyway. My tea sat untouched. I grabbed my backpack and got up from the table.
“Okay then. Well, thanks for being willing to hear me out. I gotta go catch the bus. You have a good night.”
As I grabbed my cup, he said to me, “Hey, Terry Conway. How come you don’t have friends? What happened to all your rich buddies? And why the hell are you working in a fucking shoe store? Shouldn’t you be working your way up the ranks at something corporate by now?”
Maybe he needed to give me some of the hell I’d caused him in the past. Whatever the reason, I had nothing to hide. I shrugged as I turned to walk away and said, “I came out.”
