Happy Sunday!

One of my neighbor’s was so thoughtful as to burn their yard trash this afternoon, thus my doors are closed and throat is raspy. How’s your Sunday? 🙂

Here’s a snippet from “Of Paws and Pet Rocks”, published by JMS Books. Barry is the main character; Trixie is his sister; Sid is Trixie’s husband; and Timothy is their one-year-old. Barry is on the phone with Trixie for dating advice. Sheldon is the potential date in question.

“Oblivious, that’s your middle name. Sounds like he’s into you. What’s the problem?” Trixie asked.

“I’m really not dating material. I have too much baggage. And I’m financially insolvent,” I replied.

“The right man won’t care about that. The next time Sheldon says or does something like this, be bold and reciprocate. Take a
chance, Barry. Not every guy’s jerktastic like Winslow, okay? You deserve something good in your life, aside from me.”

“You’re such a—”

“Wonderful, caring human being? Yes, I am. You’re lucky to have me. Now, say good night to Timothy.”

“Good night, Timothy.”

Gurgle.

“Night, Barry!”

“Night, Sid.”

“Love you, brother mine.”

“Love you, too, sis.

Happy Sunday!

Are you taking it easy? Napping? Watching movies? Me, too! 🙂

Here’s a snippet from “Junk M.A.L.E.”, published by JMS Books.

“I just punched a guy who was about to come after you with a knife, Guff. You owe me.”

“No, I don’t!” he snapped, and that was the first hint of fire I’d had from the man since I’d met him. I liked it. Or maybe I had a death wish.

“I didn’t ask you to come in here, and I would have handled it just fine. I was handling it. Go home, Jerry. You don’t know what you’re messing with. These are dangerous people.”

“You don’t think I know anything about danger? Have you ever tried running in five-inch heels? I’ll have you know my ankles were in danger every damn minute.”

Happy Sunday!

I hope you’re well. I’m enjoying the change in weather. Are you? 🙂

Here’s a snippet from “Grateful for You”, published by JMS Books.

I froze with my cigarette hanging out of my mouth. Walt Schneider, all six-foot-five inches of him, stood there, still as
beautiful as ever. Why couldn’t time have been cruel? His auburn hair hung in waves around his face, gray eyes still mesmerizing as fuck. The overhead streetlight showed me everything.

Mom set this up.

“No way,” I declared. “I’ll walk, thank you very much.”

I flicked the cigarette into the snow and grabbed my duffel bag. Before I got very far, Walt grabbed my arm. His grip
reminded me of nights spent writhing together in bed, at his mercy.

I’d rather forget that.

Happy Saturday!

How are you? It’s a lovely, cool fall day in Atlanta – love it!

Here’s a snippet from “Can’t Buy His Love”, published by JMS Books today – yeah!!! It’s a conversation between Tory and Wheeler, our main character, a couple of hours after Wheeler saved a kid who almost got hit by a car. And then Wheeler gets hit instead. Enjoy!

“It’s all over town, you know. Some of the guests at the motel were even talking about it, and Maury”—Maury Landrum was Tory’s boyfriend—“called me from the bookstore. You’re a hero, buddy.”

I rolled my eyes. “Not even. Although it got me a lunch date with Gregory and his little munchkins on Thursday.”

Tory was astonished. “Really? You save a kid, get hit by a car and you land a date with your obsession?”

“Who knew that’s what it would take, huh?” I grumbled as I turned onto my back. “It’s a step in the right direction.”

“Only you would be able to turn something like this into a potential adult sleepover.”

“Ha.” I briefly closed my eyes. “I’m relieved he’s finally giving me the time of day. I plan to make the most of it.”
